Vegan Cleanse Day 10

Saturday, April 10, 2010

Today’s Meal Plan:  I got up late so I don’t have an AM snack.

  • Breakfast:  Van’s Gluten Free Flax Waffles, raw almond butter, a little raw agave syrup, blueberries
  • Lunch: Garbanzo Bean and Quinoa Pilaf (Hubby LOVED this, in fact, he finished it without me.  I had to remind him I am limited on what I can eat.  It IS good.  Recipe coming.
  • Snack:  steamed broccoli and asparagus, mixed nuts (roasted, I didn’t have a choice)
  • Dinner: Mongolian Barbeque Vegetarian Bowl with no sauce, brown rice, and a big mixed green salad with olive oil and vinegar

Not as much raw as I would have liked.

Beverages:  Two Venti Peppermint Herbal (Caffeine Free) Teas from Starbucks, 3/4 of a gallon of water

We ate out lunch and dinner.  I was able to keep things on the cleanse, I just told everyone NO SAUCE.  It worked well.  I was glad to have an entire day away from home (I ate breakfast at home before I left and took my lunch with me to eat while driving) while we ran errands and enjoyed the day out in the fresh air and sunshine.  It was a wonderful, healing day out and I had a new found faith that I can make this diet work long term.

A note about the Garbanzo Bean Quinoa Pilaf, I made it Friday (last) night.  My husband came home and ate a bowl of it.  He then ate a bowl for lunch himself.  I was so surprised he loved it so much.  He said it was a 9 on a 1 to 10 scale.  WINNER MEAL!
